Configuring users

A user ID is required for each user to log on to the application.

To add a user:

  1. Select Open > Users (FTUserMaint).
  2. Remove the existing filter, if applicable.
  3. Click New.
  4. Click the Groups tab.
  5. Add the User permission Groups to which the user can be assigned. You can select the FT-Base and FT-Employee groups.
    Note: 
    • The user can be assigned to Add FT-Supervisor group if the Time Track functionality is implemented.
    • You can add additional groups, if required based on the user authorization.
  6. Click the Factory Track Info tab and specify this information:
    Warehouse
    The default warehouse assigned to the user.
    User Initials
    The abbreviated form of the user ID. This value is displayed in the CSI Material and Job transactions.
    Menu Group ID
    The group ID to which the user is assigned. All users in this group ID can review the customized menu on the scanner.
    Work Center
    The default work center assigned to the user if the user is connected to a work center kiosk.
    User Can Change Clock
    Select this check box to allow supervisors, QA, and demo users to edit the clocks. Clear this check box for the regular or kiosk users.
    Label Printer
    The name of printer.
    Note: 
    • This value must be specified only if the Warehouse Mobility functionality is implemented with the application.
    • If the LN Multi-Site In Use check box is selected on the Parameter Dashboard form, printers defined for the user in the Organization field on the Label Printer Configuration form are only displayed. However, if a value is not specified for the user in the Organization field on the Label Printer Configuration form, printers associated with the global default organization is displayed.
    The Menu Group ID and Label Printer fields are applicable only if the Warehouse Mobility functionality is implemented.
  7. Click User Modules. The User Modules screen is displayed.
  8. Select the required license for the user in the Module Name field.
  9. Click New for additional license. Possible scenarios:
    • For Cloud-based implementations, select the FactoryTrackCloud license for the user.
    • For On-Prem implementations, these licenses can be allocated to the users:
      • FactoryTrackBase: All users.
      • FactoryTrackMetrics: Admin users are provided license to access transaction metric forms.
      • FactoryTrackShopFloorTrans: Users are provided license to use FT Shop Floor for CSI.
      • FactoryTrackTTTrans: Users are provided license to use FT Time Track for CSI.
      • FactoryTrackWMTrans: Users are provided license to use FT Warehouse Mobility for CSI.
  10. Click Save.
