Machine Downtime

Use the Machine Downtime form to record downtime for a machine resource directly from the Shop Floor. This form allows operators or supervisors to report when a machine becomes unavailable so that machine activity is tracked accurately and production records remain up to date.

When a machine is reported as down, all active tasks associated with that machine are stopped automatically before the downtime task is initiated. A downtime record is also created on the Tracking View form to capture the downtime details. The recorded downtime transaction is posted to CSI/SyteLine Job Transactions to ensure that the ERP system is synchronized with Factory Track.

The Machine Downtime form uses downtime reason codes to identify a machine is unavailable. These reason codes are downloaded from CSI/SyteLine to Factory Track through the Data Sync Control functionality using the Machine Down Reason option on the Tasks form. During synchronization, only the downtime codes that do not have the Apply to Job option enabled in CSI/SyteLine are downloaded and displayed in Factory Track. Downtime reason codes can also be created manually in Factory Track, only if the code is same as the corresponding downtime code definitions in CSI/SyteLine. You can review the available downtime reason codes by using the Downtime option on the Tasks form.

After a machine is reported as down, the selected downtime code and the description are displayed in the Active Tasks form so that operators can easily identify the reason for the unavailability of the machine. The total downtime duration is recorded on the Tracking View form to provide an accurate history of machine downtime for reporting and analysis.

The machine with Down status cannot be used for job reporting or production activities.
