Setting Up Data Categories

Use the Data Categories Setup form to maintain categories for the exported data along with tables in each category. You can view the categories that are generated from the application. These categories cannot be modified.

  1. Access the Data Categories Setup form.
  2. Click the New Icon.
  3. Specify this information:
    Category
    The code of the category.
    Sequence
    The order in which categories are displayed in the XML file.
    Description (String)
    The description of the category.
    Note: This string is defaulted from Mongoose.
    Description
    The description of the category.
    Note: The value is considered, only if a value in the Description (String) field is not specified.
    System Record
    Select this check box to classify this data category as a system record.
    Note: This data cannot be modified.
    Table
    The name of the table or view to be exported.
    Where
    The location where the data of the table is to be filtered for the specified category.
    Skipped Columns
    The columns that must not be included in the extract. These values can be separated through a comma.
    Import Action
    The type of import action to be performed. Possible values:
    • Insert
    • Update
    Disable Triggers
    Select this check box to disable the triggers for the table when the data is imported.
    Clear Before Import
    Select this check box to delete the previous data before an import.
  4. Click the Save icon.
    Note: You can also use the Generate Custom Category For Transaction option to create a customized category for the selected transaction.
