Notification Setup

Use this form to configure Application Events System events to send email notifications when a defined event occurs. Supervisors and administrators subscribe to notification emails by setting the Notifications parameter on the Work Group Privileges tab.

To activate a notification set the Active parameter must be selected.

When a notification is selected in the panel on the left margin of the form the following information will display in the center of the form:

Notification Name
The name of the notification. This is a unique identifier.
Event
The code that represents the Application Event for which notifications are sent.
Note: This value is defaulted from the FT Events Setup form.
Event Description

Note: This value is defaulted from the FT Events Setup form.
Last Execution Time
The date and time when the notification was last initiated.
Parameter Value Sub-collection
The Parameter and Description fields are captions specified in the FT Events Setup form. The value fields are used to set date range selection criteria and threshold limits that are used by the Application Event to select records.

Notifications that can be sent to supervisors and administrators include:

Aging Absence Requests

Pending Scheduled Absences
When an absence is found in the specified date range.
Absence Code Usage
When an absence code for which the Send Notification check box is selected in the specified date range of a processed timesheet.
Excessive Work Without Break
When the clocked time of an employee exceeds the specified threshold for the selected date range.

Unprocessed Timesheets

Unscheduled Shift Change
When an employee clocks in at a time that exceeds the shift start variance threshold.
Note: Users with the Administrator or Supervisor role can receive notifications, only if the Notification parameter is selected on the Work Groups form.

Notifications are initiated through a background task based on the setting specified on this form. Once a notification is set to Active, notifications can be generated on demand by selecting the Launch option.

To schedule notifications to run on a scheduled cadence through the Taskman Service, you can select the Run In Background parameter and then select Action\Background Queue option. You can configure the recurrence increments on the Background Queue form that is displayed and click OK. You can verify the task runs per schedule in the Background Task History form.

Note: You can include more than one notification in a scheduled background task, by select another notification and clicking the Run In Background option after the Run In Background option is selected for the first notification.
