Defining Kanban Locations

After creating a Kanban item on the Kanban Item form, you must use the Kanban Item Locations form to specify where that Kanban item will be replenished. You can specify multiple replenishment locations for a Kanban item. You must define each Kanban item-location combination as a separate record.

  1. Select Modules > Configuration > Infor CloudSuite Industrial Setup > Kanban Setup > Kanban Item Locations. The Kanban Item Locations form is displayed.
  2. Click New or select a blank line from the grid at the left.
  3. Specify this information:
    Item
    The kanban item. The item description, Kanban quantity, and unit of measure are displayed.
    Warehouse
    The kanban warehouse. The warehouse description is displayed.
    Kanban Location
    The kanban location. The location description is displayed as well as the work center containing that location and the work center description.
    Kanban Source
    Possible values:
    • Inventory
    • JIT Production
    • Purchase Order
    • Transfer Order
    Vendor
    The vendor number identifying a vendor.
    Line
    The line number of the purchase order against which the releases are created.
    Note: This field is displayed only for the purchase order of type Blanket.
  4. Select the Active check box to generate Kanban for the specified item.
    Note:  If this check box is selected, the Generate Kanban(s) option is enabled.
  5. Click Generate Kanban(s) to generate the Kanbans for the item. The generated Kanbans are displayed on the Kanban section.
  6. Click Save.
