Employee Authentication

Use this form to sign in as a generic user and perform transactions using the Work Center Navigation Home and Work Center UI form.
Note: This form is displayed when a user logs on to Factory Track with a user account that is not linked to the employee.

When performing a discrete transaction as a generic user, the employee is logged out automatically and must log on again using this form, before performing another transaction.

When the Discrete Transaction parameter is not selected, the employee (generic user) is logged out automatically. The PIN number is an additional security precaution for employees signing into Factory Track using the Employee Authentication form. The PIN is a string that can be the badge of an employee or any other string that uniquely identify the employees. This PIN is displayed on the form when the global parameter PIN Required is selected. An administrator or user who has access to the employee transaction can set a PIN for the employee. If the employee is added through data synchronization with ERP, the PIN can be set to a blank value or a specific default that is stored and encrypted in the database.

If the PIN Change Required parameter is selected on the Global Parameters form, the employee must change the PIN number when accessing the Employee Authentication form later.

When the Employee Authentication form is accessed and the PIN Required parameter is selected, the Change PIN option is displayed. The New PIN field to modify the PIN is displayed only when the Change PIN option is selected.
Note: Initially, when the employee data synchronization creates an employee record, a default PIN is created for security purposes. You must change the PIN when you log on to the system for the first time.
