Setting Up Barcode Prefixes

  1. Select BarCode Handling > Prefix Handling. The Prefix Handling form is displayed.
  2. Click New. A new line is added to the grid.
  3. Specify or review this information:
    Prefix Field Type
    The type of the prefix field.
    Note: If you are modifying an existing barcode prefix field type, this field is read only.
    Prefix Mandatory
    Select this check box to prevent barcodes that do not contain the prefix from being scanned into this field type.
  4. Specify prefix values for the prefix field type in the Data Prefixes section:
    Prefix Seq
    The sequence in which prefix is searched.
    Prefix Code
    The character value for the prefix.
  5. Click Save.
