Enable these parameters:
- Display Error Message as a Timer Message: The parameter used to view messages in the
device for a specified length of time.
- Timer Message interval in Seconds: The parameter used to specify the time interval (in
seconds) for which the message is to be displayed on the device.
- Play sound for Messages: The parameter used to specify whether a sound should be played on
the device when an error is detected.
- Logging Maximum Size (MB): The parameter used to define the size of log files to be stored
on the device. Typically, this should be set to 10.
- Base Font Size (SP): The parameter used to specify the font size in which the content must
be displayed. This font size is used as the basis for all fields that
are displayed on the device. In general, the larger the device, the
higher this size can be set. For a phone-type device, it is recommended
to be set at approximately 10 SP. For a tablet, a setting of
approximately 20-26 SP is recommended, but the optimal value needs to be
determined by the administrator on a trial-and-error basis.
- Use Camera to Scan Barcodes: The parameter used to define whether the device’s camera can
be used to scan barcodes. If this option is selected, the action is
triggered by the operator by means of a ‘left-swipe’ action on the
device.
- Postamble to Add to Barcodes: If the Camera parameter is selected, the administrator must
define the Postamble to be appended to a scanned barcode to ensure that
the field is exited after a successful scan. Typically, this requires to
be set to ‘enter’; however, different devices may have different
Postamble settings.
- Use Soft Keyboard: The parameter to use ‘soft’ keyboard on this type of device. If this
option is selected, the action is triggered by the operator by means of
a ‘right-swipe’ action on the device.
- Enable Filter on List Screens: The parameter to indicate whether the device supports the
filtering of data returned from the ERP system. Typically, this can be
used during the receiving process when an order has large number of
lines and the operator can scan the item number to search for the
required data.
