Assigning Serialized Components to an End Item

  1. Select Material > Visual Serial Assignment. The Visual Serial Assignment form is displayed.
  2. Select a work center in the Work Center field of the header section. The jobs associated with the selected work center are displayed on the Job tab.
    Note: If the Work Center field is left blank, all the jobs are displayed.
  3. Select a job from the list of jobs. A list of the end items included in the job is displayed. This information is displayed for each end item:
    • item number
    • item description
    • serial number
    • whether material is required or the material requirements have been filled
    • number of components that are required to be assigned to this item
  4. Select an end item to which the material must be assigned. A list of all component material required for the end item is displayed. This information is displayed for each component:
    • item number
    • item description
    • whether the component is required or the requirement has been filled
    • the quantity needed and the quantity installed
  5. Select a component to which the serialized material must be assigned. A list of assigned and needed components is displayed. The serial number is displayed for assigned components. The required components are labeled Not Installed. Locations where the required material is available are also displayed.
  6. Click the reverse arrow to return to the list of components or Jobs hyperlink to return to the list of jobs.
  7. Click the red X option to unassign the components from the end item.
  8. Select an inventory location. A list of component serial numbers that are available for the location is displayed.
  9. Click the Process option to assign a serialized component to the end item. The component is assigned to the item and marked with the label Just Updated.
