Creating requisites for Data Lake/IMS replication
Before using replication for Data Lake and Infor Messaging Service (IMS) data transfers, you must set up the system using this process.
-
Designate a "bootstrap"configuration. To specify a "bootstrap" configuration,
use the Service Configuration Manager utility.
See the help topic Specifying a "bootstrap" configuration.
-
Verify that a replication category that meets your needs exists. To check the
list of replication categories, open the Replication
Categories form and then click Filter In Place.
For Data Lake/IMS transactions, you can use the MGCORE category (if provided, as it is in a typical multi-tenant cloud environment). Otherwise, you could use the ESB category.
If there no existing category meets your requirements, you must create a new category.
See the help topic About replication categories and rules.
Caution:We strongly recommend that you contact Infor Consulting Services for assistance before you create, or attempt to create, your own replication categories. On the Replication Categories form, with a replication category selected, verify that the Replication Transfer Type field is set to Data Lake.
-
Open the Intranets form and create an intranet to be used
specifically for BOD transactions.
Any intranet used for BOD-based replication must have these specifications, at a minimum:
- Intranet
- Specify the name to identify the intranet, for example: DATALAKE
- Description
- Optionally, provide an appropriate description to be used internally for identification purposes.
- External
- Select this check box.
- Transport
- Select ESB.
- ION Transfer Type
- Select ION Messaging.
- Data Catalog URL
- Provide the URL for the server that hosts the Data Catalog.
- URL
- Provide the URL for the IMS server.
- IMS Service Name
- Optionally, when sending replication records to an Infor Messaging Service (IMS)
destination site, you can specify a lookup key for the IMS OAuth
credentials.Note: This field is available only when you select ION Messaging in the ION Transfer Type field. This option is read-only if you are working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
- Append :ims To Logical ID
- Optionally, when sending replication records to an Infor Messaging Service (IMS)
destination site, you can select this option to append the ":ims"
suffix to outbound logical IDs. Note: This field is available only when you select ION Messaging in the ION Transfer Type field. This option is read-only if you are working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
Other active fields on the Intranets form are optional. For information about them and how they are used, see the help topics for the individual fields.
-
Open the Sites form and create a logical
"site" to be used for Data Lake/IMS transactions.
At a minimum, specify this information:
- Site
- Specify a name to identify this site as your Data Lake/IMS-based site; for example: DATALAKE.
- Site Name and Description
- Optionally, provide an appropriate site name and description.
On the System Info tab, make these settings:
- Time Zone
- Select the time zone to be used by this site.
- Intranet Name
- Select the intranet you created in the previous step.
On the Site User Map tab, make these settings:
- From Site
- User Name
Other active fields on the Sites form are optional.
-
Open the Replication
Rules form and create a new rule.
At a minimum, specify this information:
- Source Site
- From the drop-down list, select the local site (typically, DEFAULT).
- Target Site
- From the drop-down list, select the site that you configured in the previous step.
- Category
- From the drop-down list, select the category you are using for Data Lake/ISM transactions.
- Description
- Optionally, provide a brief description to be used internally to help identify the purpose or use of the rule.
- Interval Type
- From the drop-down list, select Immediate.
- Regenerate the replication triggers.
