Receiving Customer Returns without an RMA (Customer Returns)

  1. Select Icon Menu > Inbound Transactions > Customer Returns. The Customer Returns form is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Customer
    The number of the customer who is returning items.
    New Order?
    Indicates if the order is a new or existing order. Possible values,
    • Yes: creates new sales order
    • No: includes the returned item to an existing order
    Order Number
    The order number to which to returned item is added.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the return items are added to an existing order.
  3. Select Next.
  4. Specify or review this information:
    Order Number
    The order number of existing order to add the returned items.
    Note: This field is blank if the returned items are added to new order.
    Item Number
    The item number used to scan.
    Lot Number
    The lot number to scan the item.
    Quantity
    The quantity of the returned items.
    Warehouse
    The warehouse in which the returned items are moved..
    Location
    The location from which item are received.
    Generate Handling Unit
    The handling unit for the returned items.
    Note: This field is enabled only if the organization is using handling units, and the item is handling unit-controlled.
    Handling Unit
    The handling unit used for the returned items.
  5. Select Process. If the item is serial-controlled or needs to be assigned with a Lot Number, the Serial/Lot Entry screen is displayed.
  6. Specify or review this information, on the Serial/Lot Entry screen:

    Item number
    The item number and description are displayed.
    Warehouse
    The warehouse of the received item.
    Quantity remaining
    The quantity that must be assigned with serial or lot numbers.
    Generate Serials?
    Determines to generate new serial numbers for the items. Possible values,
    • Yes: creates new serial number
    • No: scans an existing serial number
    .
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is serial-controlled,
    All Serials?
    Indicates that all serial numbers for the item at the current stock point are used in the transaction. Possible values,
    • Yes: Avoids scanning of each serial number.
    • No: Permits scanning of each serial number.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is serial-controlled and you are performing a transaction using all the items in a stock point.
    Lot Number
    The lot number assigned with the item.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is not serial-controlled and must be assigned with a lot number.
    Serial Number
    The serial number of the item.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is serial-controlled, not generating a new serial number, and Yes is not specified in the All Serials? field.
    Quantity
    The quantity to be assigned with the specified Lot Number.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is not serial-controlled and must be assigned with a lot number.
  7. Select Process. The scanned serial number or lot number is processed. If there are additional serial numbers or lot numbers to scan, scan them. Click X to view serial or lot numbers that are scanned. You can click Y to reset all scanned serial or lot numbers, to rescan the numbers..
  8. Specify a putaway location in the Actual Location field.
  9. Print labels. If this transaction is configured to print labels, labels are automatically printed or the Label Printing screen is displayed.
