Overview
Use the Infor Factory Track Database Validation and Prep Tool to prepare your existing Factory Track databases for use with Single Version. If you plan to move from an on-premises installation to the Infor cloud, you must run the tool a second time, after the database has run the Single Version Installer, to validate your database for the cloud.
The Database Validation and Prep Tool connects to your SQL database and examines the schema and database objects, comparing them with a manifest that details the current Single Version database schema. The tool has two phases:
If the database is currently on-premises and is being moved to the cloud (that is, if the tool finds that the SQL database has already been upgraded to Single Version), the tool also validates that all sites are in a single database, and that intranet licensing is not used.
When the Validate phase completes, the tool indicates whether the phase was successful. If it was successful, you are done. If it failed, view the log and then run the Remediate phase.
: The
tool analyzes the database for schema and object standards and customizations, and lists any
unapproved customizations or required schema that is missing from the database. It also
verifies that the application, forms, and objects tables are all in one database. When the Remediate phase completes, the tool indicates whether the phase was successful. If it failed, view the log and manually fix the problems in the database that the tool could not fix. Then rerun the Validate phase and continue to fix problems until the Validate phase completes successfully
: If
problems were found in the Validate phase, select this option to allow the tool to try to
fix the problems in the database. You can also fix problems manually.
