Viewing the current user cap on list items

If you suspect that the number of items the system is displaying in a field list is not what it needs to be, you can view the current user cap:

Note: This procedure does not help you to know if there is a system-wide list cap in use and, if it is, the value to which it is set. For more information, see About caps.
  1. Select View > User Preferences.
  2. In the User Preferences dialog box, determine the value set in the User List Record Cap section.
    The option that is selected shows the current user-level cap on list items retrieved for drop-down lists.
