Calendar View (Default Screen or Preference)

You can click on the filter icon and change the view of the calendar. You can define the period range you want to look at by selecting the field Displayed Months.

If you take a look at the calendar view you will notice the range of colors showing on different dates.

To understand the significance of each daily color, please refer Level Values.

  • Grey Days - Days in History (all dates prior to the current day)
  • Red Days – Days of High Revenue Opportunity
  • Yellow Days – Days of Medium Revenue Opportunity
  • Green Days – Days of Low Revenue Opportunity

Occasionally you may find days that are shades of the Revenue Opportunity days, these represent Revenue Opportunity days in between those set on the Level Values.

This legend highlights the physical amount of extra revenue your hotel could realize on any singular date if you accept and follow the recommendations given by EzRMS.

When you move back to the Calendar View you can look at the Revenue Opportunity figures for the whole of the selected period.

You can also view the Revenue Opportunities Summary:

  • Total Revenue Gain Achievable - This value indicates the expected additional revenue that can be gained by accepting all System Recommendations, compared to accepting the demand coming in without having any restrictions / controls in place. This value gets updated on a daily basis, but no change is made as you save recommendations. I can expect to make 336K USD additional revenues by following the EzRMS recommendations, compared to having no RM strategy in place and taking bookings as they come in.
  • Remaining Revenue Gain Achievable - This value indicates the expected revenue gain to be achieved by accepting the remaining EzRMS recommendations and not overriding the system. If nothing has been overridden or saved in the system, this value equals to the total revenue gain achievable. This value changes as you save recommendations. If I save and follow all the EzRMS recommendations and remove my overrides I can expect to gain 256K USD additional revenues.
  • Current Revenue Gain Due to Acceptance of Recommendations- This value indicates the excepted additional revenue thanks to the system recommendations that have already been accepted. This value is reset to 0 every morning as new recommendations are generated, and changes as you save recommendations. With the recommendations I have saved and implemented this morning, I can expect to make an additional 30K USD.
  • You will notice a Copy Icon next to the Revenue Opportunities Summary. This icon can be used to export the values behind the calendar into Excel. Click the icon and select Export As TSV to copy the data into Excel.

Save Recommendations

Note: This should only be done using the Standard View.

This option is an option that needs to be used with care. This option should only be used once you have reviewed all dates that have revenue opportunities and you are happy with the restrictions that will be put in place! This option should not be used without investigation.

EzRMS has been designed in order to make life easy for the user. The following option is a good example of this fact. Once all of the dates that have revenue opportunities and all days for the next four weeks have been investigated, this option can prove to be very useful.

Changes to the displayed information:

  • First Displayed Month: This option allows you to select the first month of the period that you would like to display. Using the pick-boxes, in the date field, you will be able to select a new month from which to start the displayed information from. In order to make changing date more user friendly, you will find arrow keys, both on the right and left hand side of the First Displayed Month field. Right click once on the arrow key to the left of the date to move back a month. Right clicking once on the arrow key to the right of the year will move the calendar display forward by one calendar month. Alternatively date selections can be made from the calendar icon, by right clicking once on the icon. Again using the arrow keys to the left and right of the month and year display will move the calendar either forward or onto future dates (right arrow) or past (left arrow). Right click on any specific highlighted green day to make your date selection.
  • Displayed Months: In some occasions you might want to see a different date range than the default date range. In order to change the date range, select Displayed Months.
  • Main Analysis: As a default EzRMS will show you any date on which you have revenue Opportunities. You can change the information that is shown in the calendar screen to other critical business information. The following Alerts can be selected:
    Option Description
Revenue Opportunities Highlights the dates on which money can be made by putting the restrictions in place that have been recommended by EzRMS.
    Upsell Opportunities

Highlights the dates on which there is a potential to upsell rooms. In some cases you will find that there is more demand in the cheaper room categories and not enough demand in the more expensive room categories. In these cases you have the possibility to try to sell these customers a more expensive room for a small supplement or you can upgrade them.

Overridden Recommendations Highlights the dates on which you have overridden the EzRMS recommendations.
Relocations Highlights the dates on which you have overridden the EzRMS recommendations.
Recommended denials Shows the dates on which there is a risk of having to relocate or book out customers.
    Waitlist

Shows the number of rooms that are held on"Waitlist". This can be a useful tool as by managing waitlist bookings effectively you can really optimize your revenues.

    OTB Occupancy Percentage

Shows the On-The-Books Occupancy levels. In one glance you will be able to see the current Occupancy Levels by colour instead of in numbers. The advantage of this screen is that it is easier to look at for a quick overview

    Forecasted Occupancy Percentage

Shows the Forecasted Occupancy levels. In one glance you will be able to see the current Occupancy Levels by colour instead of in numbers. The advantage of this screen is that it is easier to look at for a quick overview.

OTB Variations (1, 7, 14 Days, 4 Weeks) Shows the number of rooms that have been picked-up in the last 1, 7, 14 Days or the last 4weeks, for each specific date.
Denials Shows the number of denials that have already been entered into the PMS.
Cancellations Shows the number of cancellations that have already been entered into the PMS.
Out Of Order Rooms Shows the number of Out of Order Rooms that are currently being held in the PMS.
Compete Alerts Highlights the dates where you have set up some Ez-Compete alerts (work with Ez-Compete Module).
Dynamic Rack Code Shows the Dynamic Rack (or BAR) Rate Code that EzRMS is recommending.
Dynamic Rack Standard Shows the value of the Dynamic Rack (or BAR) Rate Code that EzRMS is recommending.
Bid Price - Standard Shows the value of the Bid Price calculated by EzRMS.
Overbooking Shows the value of the Over-Booking level recommended by EzRMS.
Note: Allows you to see the Notes written by any user of the system on specific days.
  • Level Values: All future dates will have a specific colour, as described earlier. The colours reflect the amount of additional revenue that can be made on a specific day by changing the selling restrictions in your PMS. If for some reason you would like to change the way that the specific"Revenue Gain" days are displayed, you can do so by changing the Level Values. The level defaults are customisable per hotel so the same colours will indicate different levels of revenue gain from hotel to hotel. An example would be: In a hotel we have set the default levels to reflect the following:
    • High: 10000
    • Medium: 5000
    • Low: 0
A day on which you can make an additional amount of 10000 in revenue would be highlighted as a high revenue gain day using the red colour. If we would change the Level Values to:
    • High: 20000
    • Medium: 10000
    • Low: 0

This would mean that the day previously indicated as a high revenue gain date, would in fact only be a medium revenue gain date, highlighted in yellow.

  • Apply: By clicking on the Apply button, the changes that you have made to the First Displayed Month, Displayed Months and Level Value will be applied and the screen will redraw using the new selections.

Any day that is underlined in the Revenue Opportunities has a hyperlink to access the Detailed Daily View for this date.
