Creating a pool point

  1. Select Master Data > Codes.
  2. Specify PoolPoints in the Name field.
  3. Click Drill down to open the code list.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Click Create to add a pool point.
  6. In the Header Data section, specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a name.
    Short Description
    Specify a short description.
    Description
    Specify a detailed description.
    Effective from Date
    This field shows the first day on which a record or a setting is valid. The settings are valid until the Effective to Date.
    Effective to Date
    This field shows the last day on which a record or a setting is valid. See Effective from Date.
  7. In the Property Values section, specify this information:
    Automatically Create Master Shipment
    Select this check box to automatically create master shipments.

    If you select this check box, the same master bill of lading number is assigned to shippers that are within the specified time frame and have the same pool point and trading partner.

    Note: This applies as long as the status of the master shipment is Incomplete.
    Start of Shipment Date Time Frame (Hours)
    Specify the start date of the time frame that applies to the creation of master shipments.
    End of Shipment Date Time Frame (Hours)
    Enter the end date of the time frame that applies to the creation of master shipments. The specified values indicate that shippers with shipping dates within this time frame can be combined into a master shipment. These shippers can be sent to the pool point using the same truck.
    'Attention of' Name
    This field shows an additional name.
    Floor
    The field shows the level of the building.
    Building Name
    The building name allows to identify a building.
    Street
    This field shows the street name.
    City
    Specify the name of the city.
    Country Subdivision
    Specify the country subdivision.
    Tax ID
    The tax ID is a number used to identify legal persons or businesses. The tax authorities assign the tax numbers to the registered businesses. Your business partners must provide you with their tax number. Business partners without a tax number are considered to be private persons.
    Pool Point
    This field shows the pool point name. Pool points help to minimize outbound freight costs by shipping shippers to local pool points and then deliver the product locally. This process reduces distribution costs to local outlets by minimizing the delivery distances and consolidating shippers into a master shipment.
    Unit
    This field shows the unit designator.
    Building
    Specify the number of the building.
    Post Office Box
    The post office box is located on the premises of a post office station.
    Postal Code
    This field shows the postal code.
    Country
    This field shows the country.
    DUNS Number
    The Data Universal Numbering System number is a unique nine-digit code that is used to identify companies and group entities within an organization. It is issued at a company's request by the business information provider, Dun & Bradstreet.
