Roles and menus of Administrative Functions

A predefined hierarchy of roles exists for each functional area of the application. A role that is defined on a hierarchy level includes the permissions of roles on its subordinate hierarchy levels. A hierarchy level can include roles to access menu groups and menu items. This hierarchy of roles is defined for Administrative Functions:

Hierarchy of roles on level 1 Level 2 Level 3
AMD
AMDAdmin
AMDCarrierMaster
AMDCodeListManager
AMDCodeManager
AMDContactMaster
AMDCustomerMaster
AMDItemMasterManager
AMDJobManager
AMDMasterDataGroup
AMDSequentialNumber
AMDShipToMasterManager
AMDSystemGroup
AMDViewLogs
GDPR
Printing
PrintingAdmin
PrintingManager
PrintingUser

For example: The AMDAdmin role includes the permissions of the roles on hierarchy level 2. This role grants full access to configure codes, code lists, and item master data.

A role that is assigned to a user in the Security Administration grants access to menu items or menu groups of the functional areas. This table shows some examples of the permissions that are assigned to standard roles of Administrative Functions:

Menu group Menu item Role
Manage Code Lists AMDCodeListManager
Manage Codes AMDCodeManager
Master Data AMDMasterDataGroup
Manage Item Master AMDItemMasterManager
Manage Customer Master AMDCustomerMaster
Manage Carrier Master AMDCarrierMaster
Manage Ship To Master AMDShipToMasterManager
Manage Contact Master AMDContactMaster
Manage Print Jobs PrintingUser
Manage Scheduled Jobs AMDJobManager

General Data Protection Regulation GDPR
Manage Logs AMDViewLogs
Note: To individually assign roles to Administrative Functions users, consider assigning the required menu group roles that have the suffix "Group" in their names. For example, you assign the role AMDItemMasterManager, AMDCustomerMaster, or AMDCarrierMaster to a user who manages the master data. This user should also have the role AMDMasterDataGroup that grants access to the menu group Master Data.
