Understanding the carrier interface

The carrier interface handles the data transfer to the carrier, that is the software that is installed at the carrier's side. This data transfer is supported by the Carrier Interface Processing task type. The carrier interface type is set in the SCAID field in the carrier element of the BOD. Additionally, you must define a carrier variant. If this variant is not transferred through the transportation service code, you can define a default value in the CarrierInterfaceType code list.

The software creates all required labels and transfers the shipping data to the carrier.
