Understanding the Shipping functional area

The Shipping functional area imports shipper and included shipment information and commercial and pro forma invoice information from an ERP system, for example, Infor LN. After the information is imported, it can be used when printing documents and labels. You can also edit and add supplemental information.

The Shipping functional area exports the processed data to Transformation Services. There, it is transformed into the trading partner's preferred EDI format and transferred to the connected OEM system through Exchange Services. Technically, the Shipping functional area uses the Shipment BOD and CarrierRoute BOD to import shipping and shipper data. It uses the Invoice BOD to import commercial and pro forma invoice information, and the ProcessShipment BOD and ProcessCarrierRoute BOD for export.
