Partner IDs
On the Partner IDs page, you can create, edit, copy, and delete a partner ID setup.
In a partner ID setup, a combination of sender and receiver IDs, a message type, and a message direction is defined for a partner ID.
To determine the sender ID and receiver ID of a message, for example, the supplier ID and customer ID, a message ID setup is required. This setup depends on the message standard and the message type. Based on the defined positions and qualifier tags in a message ID setup, the sender ID and receiver ID are evaluated. The sender ID and receiver ID are then used to retrieve the partner ID setup and the defined partner ID. The partner ID and the message type are the main search criteria to evaluate the transformation rule for a message.
For example, if the message standard is VDA, the sender ID and receiver ID are stored at offset 6 and 15 in the message. These positions must be defined correctly in the message ID rules to evaluate the valid partner ID of the partner ID setup.
A specific part of the partner ID setup is defined in the EXS Parameters field set. The field set consists of the EXS Partner ID, the Data Set Name, and the Character Set that is used for the message exchange. The EXS Partner ID and the Data Set Name refer to a set of OFTP/FTP parameters that are used by Exchange Services to create a sending order.
A partner ID setup can contain several partner mapping lines for incoming and outgoing messages. External customer IDs, and ship to IDs, and supplier IDs are mapped with the internal customer IDs, and ship to IDs, and supplier IDs. The mapping enables the Release Management area and the connected ERP system to use the internal customer ID and ship to ID. The appropriate contract information and the internal item ID that is associated with a contract line can be evaluated.
