Understanding Workflow
Depending on the status of a shipper, you can perform specific tasks. See The Shipping functional area in practice
These tasks can be combined in a workflow. A workflow describes a collection of tasks that are executed sequentially. A workflow can be assigned to a trading partner, customer, or Ship To address.
Generally, you do not have to define a workflow. Infor provides preconfigured workflows for typical business scenarios. See these examples:
- Automotive industry: Print labels, Print Packing Slip, Print (EDI) waybill, send ASN through EDI
- Aftermarket: Print labels, print packing slip, print waybill, pass data to parcel service interface, trigger express shipping service
Using the trading partner approach in the system, parameterization can be done on trading partner level.
