Roles and menus of Shipping and Compliance

A predefined hierarchy of roles exists for each functional area of the application. A role that is defined on a hierarchy level includes the permissions of roles on its subordinate hierarchy levels. A hierarchy level can include roles to access menu groups and menu items. This hierarchy of roles is defined for the Shipping and Compliance functional areas:

For example: The EXMComplianceAdmin role includes the permissions of the EXMComplianceUser, EXMConsignmentUnblock, EXMSanctionsList, and EXMSanctionsListEntry roles. This role grants access to check addresses, to manage sanctions lists and entries, and to view the compliance log.

Note: The role EXMConsignmentUnblock is an exception to the standard concept that links a role with menu group and menu item access permissions. A user who is assigned to this role can reset a shipper that has the status Blocked to Successful. To reset a shipper, the user click the Reset Blocking Status button on the Manage Shippers page. Afterward, the user can manually perform the shipper tasks.

A role that is assigned to a user in the Security Administration grants access to menu items or menu groups of the functional areas. This table shows some examples of the permissions that are assigned to standard Shipping and Compliance roles:

Note: To individually assign roles to Shipping and Compliance users, consider assigning the required menu group roles that have the suffix "Group" in their names. For example, you assign the role EXMConsignment to a user who manages shippers. This user should also have the role EXMShippingGroup that grants access to the menu group Shipping.
