Creating a GXS partner DSN outbound

  1. Select COMMUNICATION > Partner Management.
  2. Edit a GXS partner.
  3. In the DSN Outbound area, click New.
    A DSN named 'Unnamed DSN' is created.
  4. Specify the information in the General DSN Details dialog. The available fields depend on the selected connection type.
    DSN
    Specify a data set name. This way, the complete set of information can be assigned to a send request.
    Description
    Specify a description of the data set name.
  5. On the GXS tab, specify this information:
    EDI file (Parameters are read out of the file)
    The parameters are determined by the send file.
    No EDI File
    The parameters are not determined by the send file.
    APRF
    The application reference field (APRF) is agreed upon with the GXS partner. Through this you can specify different message types similar to the virtual OFTP file name.
    Request state reports until receiver pickup date at GXS is set
    Select this check box to have

    Exchange Services

    query the GXS box to verify the delivery of the message to the recipient.
    Note: If the other party retrieves the messages in large time intervals, this may lead to a great number of requests and incur high costs.
    Mailbox
    In this field you can assign the GXS systems that have been created in Communication Systems.
    Sending Type (related to point of time)
    Specify an option:
    Option Description
    Immediately The call attempt starts immediately
    Not later than The call attempt starts after the time that you specify in the Hour, Min., Sec. fields.
    Via time series A time schedule that is defined in the communication system can be used.
    Note: Select Via time series to display the Assign schedules button. If available, click New to assign a schedule.
  6. On the Extended settings tab, specify this information:
    Conversion
    Specify the conversion to be performed by Exchange Services before transmission.
    These options are available: None, ASCII to EBCDIC, EBCDIC to ASCII.
    Send Priority
    Select the priority of the send job: low, medium, or high.
    Individual Send Directory
    Select the check box and specify an individual send directory in the provided field.
    Archiving
    Select the check box and select Individual Archive Directory to specify the archive directory in the provided field.
  7. Click OK.
