Searching the repository

You can search the DWD repository for columns and objects.

To search the repository:

  1. From the menu bar, select Metadata > Search.
  2. Specify this information for your search:
    Search for

    Specify your search term.

    Search Style

    Select the method of search:

    • Starts With

    • Exact Match

    • Contains

    Search for what

    Select:

    • Objects

    • Columns

    Objects/Columns

    Select where to search. For Objects, select whether to include a Dictionary search.

    Specify in what system to search

    Select the box and select a system from the drop-down list to search a specific system.

    Clear the box to search all of DWD.

    Note: 

    The check box is selected by default.

  3. Click the arrow to begin your search.
    Note: 

    If the search returns too many results, click the red x to stop it. Refine your search criteria and try again.

  4. Open the properties window for any returned object or column by double-clicking the result in the right-hand pane.
