PerspectiveBusinessObject table maintenance

The PerspectiveBusinessObject table is the result of the mapping of the Perspective table to the BusinessObjectConfiguration table.

To maintain the PerspectiveBusinessObject table go to the EPM Administration and select Dashboard > Data Integrations > Relational Modeling > EPM Integration.

This table shows the properties of the PerspectiveBusinessObject table:

Field Description Type
PerspectiveID Related record to the perspective.

The related table is the Perspective table. The related field is the ID.

nvarchar
BusinessObjectName Name of the business object.

It must correspond to one of the available business objects.

The related table is the BusinessObjectConfiguration table. The related field is the DefaultNameUsage.

You must use one of these business object names:

  • Analysis 1-5
  • Analysis 7-11
  • Segments 1-3
  • Organizations
nvarchar
Exclude Determines whether the dimension of a business object is part of the perspective.

These are the use cases for values:

  • True: The business object is not part of the perspective and its values are read from the FilterRecordID. In the case of a summary record, the aggregated value is retrieved.
  • False: A default value. The business object is part of the perspective. The DefaultRecordID indicates the default record override.
  • False for BusinessObjectName value Calendar: Defines the fiscal calender you want to use. This setting apples to the hierarchy of the XPADPROCESSLEVEL dimension and picks up the corresponding opening balances or period of this specific calender.

Example: If you use different Local Account structures, such as Local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAPs), United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), you can define a perspective for each GAAP separately. To define a perspective, such as US GAAP, add the US GAAP as a configuration line in the application settings. When you select this perspective, the US GAAP structure is the default in reports.

boolean
FilterRecordID External ID of a record of the business object that is used when the dimension is excluded.

References the external ID of a record of the referenced business object.

nvarchar
DefaultRecordID External ID of a record of the business object that is used as a default element of the corresponding dimension when the dimension is not excluded. nvarchar

You must use these business objects to map to a perspective:

  • GLDBUSINESSOBJCT 01-12 demotions
Note: All other demotions cannot be used.
  • Fiscal Calendar Definition
  • Account Structure
