Exporting application roles

You can export application roles to an app_roles file. The names, descriptions, and ranks of the roles are exported at the project level. When an app_roles file is imported, the roles are recreated as required in the models in the target. All permission assignments are exported. When an app_roles file is imported, the assignments are created only on the models that exist in the target application.
  1. Select Dashboards > User and Permission Management > Manage Roles.
  2. Click the Application Roles tab and select the application from which to export.
  3. Click Export and select the roles to export.
    You cannot export built-in roles.
  4. Click Apply and save the app_roles file.
    The file is saved to your default downloads location.
