Export and import
Export and Import enable you to transfer tables and data from one
application to another, from farm to farm, or from one tenant to another during testing and
implementation. The export and import functionality is not intended for the export of tables
populated with large numbers of records. Rather, it is intended for transporting schema and an
OLAP model. Export or import populated tables only if they contain
limited numbers of records.
Exports and imports fail if they take too long to process. The time-out is different in different deployments.
Tables are global objects that can be shared between applications. However, the content of a model is application-specific.
The content of an export depends on whether you export from the staging or integration database. This table shows the items that can be exported from each database:
