Editing table data in the dimension view

  1. Select Dashboards > Data Integrations > Relational Modeling.
  2. Select the Staging database in the Target Connection list. In the Application list, select the application that contains the table to administer.
  3. Click the Dimension View icon on the card of the table to administer.
  4. Perform one or more of these tasks:
    Option Description
    Add a row to the table Click Add and specify the values for each column.
    Select elements to be parents of other elements Click the Lookup icon in the Parent column of the element to become a child. You can select multiple parents. Select the elements to be parents and click Apply. This message is displayed if the selected parent is a base element that contains fact data: You are about to select base element containing fact data as a parent. Those data will be lost. Would you like to proceed?. All values of the child element are set to zero in the Dimension View. The message is relevant if the dimension is already part of an OLAP cube. The values are set to zero in OLAP when you rerun the mappings in the Mappings Overview dashboard.
    Note: You cannot assign a parent element if the ID or Parent ID columns of the table are primary keys.
    Remove an element from its parent Click the Lookup icon in the Parent column of the child element and clear the selected check box. Optionally, select different parents. Click Apply.
    Change an element's type Select the required type in the Type column.
    Change the weight of an element Specify the required weight in the Weight column.
    Change the order of elements
    Note: You cannot assign order positions to parent elements. Assign a numerical value to each child element. The element are re-ordered when the hierarchy is saved.
    Delete one or more elements Select the check boxes of the elements to delete. Optionally, select Selected Only to display only the selected elements. Click Delete.
    Edit existing values Overwrite existing values with new values. You can, for example, edit attribute values and element names.

    Changed or new values are indicated by an icon in the Status column. The icon is removed when you save the table.

  5. Click Save.
