Dimension access control
READ access allows a user to view data for selected dimension’s elements but does not allow a user to change data within that cube.
WRITE access allows a user to view data for selected dimension’s elements and to change that data. For a user or a role to be assigned WRITE access, they must also have WRITE rights.
NONE access to specific elements in a dimension means the user will not see those elements in any list of available elements. If they try to use these elements as arguments in a DBGET or DBGETC formula, the formula does not return a value. If there is an OLAP rule where the user has access to target cell and source has a reference to the restricted elements, users see that formula’s result.
Users can change an attribute value if they have one of these permissions:
- Administer OLAP Database permission.
- Write permission on the dimension element through the permission cube of the dimension.
Users can also change attribute values if there is no permission cube for the dimension.
