You can add attributes to an empty
attribute table. While adding attributes, you can delete individual attributes. After
you save an attribute table, you can no longer edit it. Deleting an attribute table
deletes all its attributes.

Select the database to administer.

Expand the Dimensions node of the database structure and select the dimension
for which to create attributes.

Click the Attributes tab.

Select an empty attribute table.

Click Add Attribute and specify
this information:
- Name
- Specify a name for the attribute.
- Description
- The name is automatically used as the description.
Optionally, specify a different description.
- Type
- Select the type of attribute to create.
- Width
- For numeric or string attributes, select the maximum width of
the attribute. The default width for string and numeric attributes
is 253 characters, which is the maximum. For date attributes, the
width is 8. For logical attributes, the width is 1.
- Precision
- For numeric attributes, specify the precision for the attribute.
Precision can be set to the width, minus 2. Thus, if the width is
10, for example, the precision can be 0 to 8.
- For string, date, or logical attributes, the precision is
0.
