Segments 1-3
The Segments 1-3 business objects refer to three custom structures to reflect, for example, business areas, regions, or products of a business. Their use is optional and depends on a specific business use case.
The use of segments is mainly driven by Infor d/EPM Financial Consolidation and is based on legal requirements. Typically, one reason you might use segments is if there is a legal requirement that, for example, the financial statements of an entity must report the main segments that drive the business. For example, if the revenue of a company in Asia contains 90% of the total revenue of the entity, this value must be reported in compliance with the logic of consolidation. Because business structures of entities or groups vary from customer to customer, many segments can be reported.
The use of business data from the Segments 1-3 business objects is optional in Budgeting & Planning, Workforce Budgeting, and Financial Consolidation.
This table shows the properties of the Segments 1-3 business objects and uses these abbreviations:
- BP: Budgeting & Planning
- WB: Workforce Budgeting
- CO: Financial Consolidation
