Exchange rates

Optionally, you can import exchange rates to an Infor d/EPM business application from the ExchangeRates integration import table. If you leave this table empty, then exchange rates must be specified in the Infor d/EPM business application.

These two groups of exchange rates are available in the Infor d/EPM business applications:

  • Standard rates
    • F: Closing rate or period end rate. The closing method is designed for the balance sheet accounts. The exchange rate is expected to be the closing rate for the converted period. In the year-to-date period view, the data is first added up and then converted. The opening balance period is used in the closing method and the opening balance rate is entered.
    • PA: Periodic average rate. The periodic average method is designed for the profit and loss accounts. The exchange rate is expected to be the average rate for the converted period. In the year-to-date period view, the data is first converted and then added up. The opening balance period is not used in the periodic average method.
  • Historical rates
    • H: Historical rates. Historical rates focus on the closing balance of an account. That is, the correct historical rate is determined based on the closing balance of the current and the previous period. You cannot load historical rates into Financial Consolidation.

The use of business data from the ExchangeRates table is optional in Budgeting & Planning, Workforce Budgeting, and Financial Consolidation.

Caution:
These five properties, together, make a record unique:
  • Period
  • Year
  • CompanyCurrency
  • GroupCurrency
  • ExchangeRateType

If multiple records have the same values for each of these properties, then only the first of those records is loaded.

This table shows the properties of the ExchangeRates table and uses these abbreviations:

  • BP: Budgeting & Planning
  • WB: Workforce Budgeting
  • CO: Financial Consolidation
  • R: Required
  • U: Used but optional
