Inserting and removing a split
-
In Design mode, select the cell in which to position a split.
Select Window > Split.
A vertical and a horizontal split line are inserted. The horizontal split is placed above the selected cell. The vertical split is placed to the left of the selected cell. If you select a cell in the first column, only a horizontal split is added.Note: Alternatively, you can drag a vertical or horizontal split line from the horizontal and vertical scroll bars. To do this, click and drag the small rectangle at the left of the Left arrow on the horizontal scroll bar, or above the Up arrow on the vertical scroll bar.
- Point the cursor at the split line. The cursor changes to two parallel lines.
-
Drag the splitters into position.
Note: You can insert a horizontal and vertical split in any report mode, but only splits inserted in Design mode are visible in View mode and Debug mode. You can fix a split in place only in Design mode.
- To remove splits, select Window > Remove Split.
-
To fix a split in position, right-click it and select
Fix. Or, select
Window > Freeze
Panes.
This creates a single window from the split windows, with one set of scroll bars. The areas to the left of a vertical split and above a horizontal split become fixed. You can continue to scroll through the data to the right and below. You can only fix one vertical and one horizontal split.
- To remove fixed areas select Window > Unfreeze Panes. Or, right-click a fixed split and select Undo fixing.
