Database structure
Database Structure is a pane of the Application Explorer. The Application Explorer is docked at the left of the screen. On the toolbar, click .
Database Structure displays the hierarchical structure of data connections to which you have access. Expand a data connection to display its cubes. Expand a cube to display its dimensions. Expand a dimension to display its hierarchies.
Dimensions are listed in the same order as in the database. Elsewhere, such as in the Edit Formula dialog, dimensions are ordered alphabetically by unique name.
To display further structural elements, click and select . For Multidimensional data connections, these are the options:
- Show Named Sets. Named sets are customized subsets of elements that are stored in the database for reuse
- Show Calculations
- Show Levels. The levels of each hierarchy
The buttons and icons of the database structure vary according to the level of the structure you select and the type of data connection.
