Creating report variables

The Report Variables folder is only displayed in the Accessories pane if a report is selected in the Report Catalog.

In the Report Catalog, select the report in which to create the variable.
In the Accessories pane, right-click the Report Variables folder and select New > Report Variable.
Specify a name for the variable.
You can set a value and a default value for the variable in the Properties pane (right-click and selectProperties). You can also specify whether or not the variable is persistent.

Note: Report variables can only be used in the reports in which they are created. It follows that they will not work in report styles, which are shared by several reports. Report variables are automatically made non-persistent if they are used in a report style.
