Viewing application logs
Application logs record issues that occur with
content. In the log viewer, you select a predefined log filter and, optionally, edit it
to your requirements. For example, you might restrict the filter to return only log
entries that contain a particular value.
In the log viewer, a column can be displayed for each filter. Click Columns and select the columns to display.
- Select Dashboards > Logs > View Application Logs.
- Click Predefined and select the log to view. Click Apply.

Specify this information:
- Time
- Select Interval and select a predefined period from the list. Or, select Specific and specify date and time range.
- Events
- This is filled according to the predefined log that you select but you can select additional events.
- Levels
- This is filled according to the predefined
log that you select but you can select additional or different
levels.Note: Debug logs become available 10 minutes after the actions that cause them occur.
- Application
- Optionally, filter the log for a specific application. By default, all applications are included.
- Object Unique Names
- Optionally, filter the log for specific objects, such as the names of reports. Specify a comma-separated list of object unique names.
- Users
- Optionally, filter the log for specific users, or groups of users. Specify a comma-separated list of users.
- Message
- Optionally, use the Contains and Does not Contain fields to filter the log for specific values. Separate the values with commas.
- Instances
- Optionally, select a specific instance to view.

specify this information:
- Farm Components
- This is filled according to the predefined log that you select but you can select additional components.
- Session IDs
- A comma-separated list of session IDs.
- Correlation IDs
- A comma-separated list of correlation IDs. Correlation IDs are used to link log events that occur at the same time in multiple service components.

Click Apply
Filters.
Log entries that match your criteria are listed in the Log Entries widget. In the widget, you can select which columns of data from the log to display. To preview the details of a message, hover the mouse over the message in the Message column. Click the message to display its details in the Message pane.You can export the logs to .txt or .csv format. Click Export in the heading of the Log Entries widget.
You can copy individual messages to the clipboard. Click Copy to clipboard in the message preview.
