Perspectives
Perspectives are used in as a core component on the GLCMAIN cube.
In complex data cubes such as GLCMAIN, it is difficult to identify which hierarchy combinations across dimensions are meaningful for a specific context. This challenge also applies to dimensions such as GLDACCOUNT, where multiple account structures may exist. The complexity increases when large data cubes with many dimensions and alternate hierarchies are used for different structures, such as Fiscal Calendar hierarchies in XPADTIME.
Perspectives address this challenge by grouping hierarchies into meaningful combinations and providing virtual views and cubes for both the API and users.
