Setting a perspective and application context on the Home page

  1. On Financial Reporting's Home page, click Show context configuration.
  2. Specify this information:
    Perspective
    Select a perspective.
    Entity
    Select an entity. Only entities that have been configured in Business Modeling are available.
    Note: A warning message Selection changed. is displayed, when some elements in the context are changed in the system, because of changed perspective. An error message This selection is no longer valid. Select another element. is displayed, when originally selected elements are no longer available because of database changes.
    Reporting period
    Select a reporting period.

    The Reporting period selection supports fiscal periods at multiple hierarchy levels: month, year, half-year, quarter, and period. You can select a view each hierarchy level as either periodic or YTD (Year-to-date).

    The Reporting period selection does not use calendar months.

    The Reporting period depends on the selected perspective.

    The default fiscal period hierarchy for the selected perspective is displayed.

    Selection on the Financial Reporting Home page is inherited by the FAB 5, Cash Flow, and KPI Comparison reports.

    Cash Flow parametrization and manual adjustments support only month-level selection. When the perspective or application context uses a non-month period, such as a quarter, half-year, or year, the system applies the last month of the selected period.

    The Cash Flow statement supports free period selection, consistent with FAB 5 report.

    Reporting version
    Select a reporting version. Versions are displayed in a hierarchical order.
    Comparison version
    Select a comparison version. Versions are displayed in a hierarchical order.
    Note: A warning message Selection changed. is displayed when some elements in the context are changed in the system, because of changed perspective. An error message This selection is no longer valid. Select another element. is displayed when originally selected elements are no longer available because of database changes.
    Scaling
    Select a scaling option. By default, No Scaling is selected.
  3. To filter perspectives, in the Perspective field, click the search list icon.
  4. In the Select Perspective dialog box, click the filter options icon.
  5. In the Filter dialog box select perspective context drivers. The default configuration set is preselected.
    If there are no existing perspectives for the combination of selected filter options, the 0 perspectives available message is displayed. In this case, change the filter options selection.
  6. Click Apply.
