Mapping accounts to Financial Consolidation group accounts

If Financial Consolidation is activated, you must link each base account that is relevant to Financial Consolidation to a group account. This is required for loading fact data for consolidation. Parent accounts are not required to be mapped to group accounts.

  1. Select EPM Business Applications > Consolidation > Business Modeling > Business Objects > Financial > Accounts.
  2. Ensure that the Group Account Mapping column is enabled.
    1. Click Manage Properties.
    2. On the Standard tab, select Group Account Mapping and then click Close.
  3. Select the account to map.
  4. Click the lookup in the Group Account Mapping column and select the group account to map to.
If no group account ID is specified, data is loaded to the Unassigned element of the Group Account dimension.

The Group Account Mapping column in EPM Business Applications > Consolidation > Business Modeling > Business Objects > Financial > Accounts is published to Financial Reporting. The Financial Consolidation pages and reports do not use this column. The column affects data only during the data load in EPM Business Applications > Consolidation > Landing Page > Entity > Trial Balance > Data Import > Load Data.

    During the data load:

    • Fact values reference the Account Business Object Reference (BOR).
    • The system uses the Group Account Mapping property to determine the Group Account BOR that receives the loaded data.

No view in Financial Consolidation displays the hierarchy that the Group Account Mapping property defines. A practical workaround uses the GLDACCOUNT dimension in Financial Reporting. The parallel hierarchy appears on the Elements tab in EPM Administration > Dashboards > OLAP > Edit Database > Database Structure: FRAPP > Dimensions > GLDACCOUNT.
