Creating custom tabs with custom reports
Custom tabs extend a standard workbook with additional reports tailored that match organization’s requirements. Custom tabs are displayed in the workbook navigation next to the default tabs such as Overview and Data Entry. Each custom tab shows a custom report.
Custom tabs are supported in both Budget and Forecast financial planning steps.
The custom report assigned to a tab must use the standard workbook tab template. This requirement ensures correct navigation and consistent parameter communication between tabs. If you create a report without the template, switching between the custom and default tabs fails.
When you switch tabs, the workbook passes context (such as entity, version, and cycle) between reports through template parameters.
Tip: If tab switching doesn't work after you add a custom tab, verify that the report was created from the standard template and that all required template parameters are preserved.
These are the prerequisites for creating custom tabs:
- Access to Business Applications
- A custom application where the report will be created
- A standard workbook tab report template
