Custom settings

Custom settings have only one value. The value can be read in lists and functions.

Unlike variables, custom settings do not store the selections of individual users. The CustomSettings.<setting name>.DefaultText and CustomSettings.<setting name>.Text functions return the same value.

A change to the value of a custom setting affects all users.

For example, an administrator could use a custom setting to specify the reporting month, or common report data configuration for all users.

You can encrypt custom settings in case they hold sensitive information such as passwords.

Next to Application Studio reports, custom settings can be used in Application Engine processes, OLAP mappings, and relational load queries and scripts.
