Transferring Financial Consolidation data to an environment in which the Budgeting & Planning module is configured

You can manually transfer Financial Consolidation data to an environment in which the Budgeting & Planning module is already configured.

Caution: Do not import the .bmexport file with the Financial Consolidation business model or the entire DEPMAPPS OLAP database to the Budgeting & Planning environment. Otherwise, existing Budgeting & Planning data will be deleted. The process of transferring Financial Consolidation data to a Budgeting & Planning-configured environment requires multiple manual steps and carries a high risk of data loss. Proceed at your own risk. Before attempting import, ensure that all relevant data is fully backed up.
  1. Create a backup copy of your existing Budgeting & Planning model. This ensures that you can restore your system if issues occur.
  2. To set up the Financial Consolidation business model, perform these steps in the Budgeting & Planning environment:
    1. Activate the Consolidation module.

      See "Activating and deactivating modules".

    2. Configure Financial Consolidation business objects with one of these methods:
      • Recreate integration table load queries.
      • Export individual business objects.
      • Upload a file with business objects.
      Note:
      • If there are conflicts between business objects that are shared between Financial Consolidation and Budgeting & Planning, resolve them before you publish the model.
      • If you use standard data import, update the records of the Accounts business object with the Group Accounts mappings.

See "Exporting business object records" and "Uploading records from a file".

    3. Configure the Consolidation module settings such as Core, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Processes, and Sequences.

      See "Financial Consolidation module features".

    4. Publish the business model and validate whether Budgeting & Planning data and created Financial Consolidation structures are correct.

      See "Publishing a model".

  3. If applicable, transfer existing Financial Consolidation data.
    Note:
    • Some data is stored in configuration cubes. To transfer the configuration cubes, we recommend that you use the OLAP Export and Import options for individual cubes. Do not export and import dimensions. For import, use only the Add/Update option. Do not use the Replace option.
    • Transfer all cubes that have names starting with T, such as TCOMPPA, TFINANC, and TSTDTRANSACTSEGM. Such cubes belong to the Financial Consolidation module.
  4. After you import cube data, publish the model in Business Modeling.
    See "Publishing a model".
  5. Export and import the Financial Consolidation ownership data.
See "Exporting ownership change requests with or without participation information" and "Importing ownership change requests".
  6. Export and import the Financial Consolidation journals.
See "Exporting journals" and "Importing journals".
