Setting the invert hierarchy mode
Invert hierarchy displays totals and subtotals below the detail values that contribute to the totals.
Unlike financial mode, invert hierarchy does not create additional labels. The layout remains compact and preserves the visual connection between detail values and totals. Unlike financial mode, invert hierarchy mode expansion direction is bottom-up.
Invert hierarchy is supported in rows and columns axis.
Invert hierarchy key benefits:
- Alignment with financial reporting practices.
Financial and management reports commonly display totals and subtotals below detailed values.
- Improved readability.
You can review detail values before aggregated totals. The layout follows a detail-to-total flow.
- Consistent report presentation.
Application Studio supports invert hierarchy. Support in web reports and Excel Integration preserves report structure and presentation across reporting environments.
