Drag and drop behavior
This section describes how drag and drop actions interact with dimensions in the filtering area, row axis, and column axis.
This table shows drag and drop action scenarios and its results:

| Move a dimension label to the opposite axis | Preserves the complete dimension configuration, including selections and attributes. |
| Move a dimension label to the filtering area | Selects the first visible element in axis to keep context of data. |
| Move an element caption to the opposite axis | Preserves the complete dimension configuration, including selections and attributes. |
| Move an element caption to the filtering area | Selects the dragged element in the hierarchy. |
| Move a dimension that uses a custom selection in filtering area to axis. | Preserves the custom selection. |
| Move a dimension that uses an attribute as the primary display type | Preserves the primary display attribute. |
| Move a dimension that contains multiple selected attributes | Transfers all selected attributes and displays them in the destination area. |
| Reorder dimensions in the filtering area | Preserves the complete dimension configuration. |
| Drop a dimension between an attribute and the parent dimension | Not supported. |
