Calculated members
You define a calculated member with the WITH MEMBER or CREATE MEMBER syntax.
Relative placement
You can position a calculated member relative to its sibling members. Relative placement controls where the calculated member is displayed within the hierarchy.
Two properties control the placement. The POSITION property defines the placement, and the REFERENCE_MEMBER property identifies the sibling member used as the reference. Relative placement is applied when the hierarchy is processed by Hierarchize().
If you do not specify placement properties, calculated members are displayed after regular sibling members.
See Position .
See Reference member.
User attribute properties
A calculated member can store user attribute values. The stored values support scenarios such as translated captions and custom member metadata.
User attribute names are enclosed in quotation marks in MDX. Reserved calculated member properties, such as FORMAT_STRING and SOLVE_ORDER, are specified without quotation marks. The referenced attribute must exist on the associated dimension.
Translation support
A calculated member can display a locale-specific caption. The caption attribute value for the active locale is displayed, if one exists. If no translated value exists, the calculated member name is displayed.
User attributes values
User attributes values can be retrieved through Dimension properties.
