Infor GenAI chat in an ad-hoc report

With the Infor GenAI chat, you can create and edit ad‑hoc reports using a natural language prompt. Infor GenAI experience accelerates report creation and reduces the need for technical skills. You do not need deep knowledge of the data model because Infor GenAI identifies and selects the most suitable data sources for each prompt, for example, generate a balance sheet for 2024.

Infor GenAI chat is available to users with access to Infor GenAI Assistant.

The administrator must configure the appropriate AI agent in Infor GenAI with the relevant Infor CPM Applications.

OLAP data permissions of the Infor GenAI chat are aligned with OLAP data permissions of Ad-hoc Report.

These functions are supported in the Infor GenAI chat:

  • Copy a prompt.
  • Copy a response.
  • Abort a prompt evaluation.
  • Create a new chat.
  • Restore checkpoints: The checkpoint capability provides an Undo option for AI-driven ad-hoc reporting. As the Infor GenAI builds and modifies a report, you can restore any previous working state and continue the process in a different direction. The system creates a checkpoint after each successful report render. Each checkpoint represents a confirmed working state that you can restore.

Using the Infor GenAI chat

The Infor GenAI chat for ad-hoc report creation provides reliable responses, and standard data configurations.

You can generate configurations that are not available in the report designer interface.

With the Infor GenAI chat you can also generate configurations that are not available in the standard report designer interface:

  • Filter data to identify top or bottom performers by creating and managing rankings.
  • Order elements by creating and managing value-based sorting.
  • Group data into segments by creating and managing segments on report axes.
  • Apply sorting and filtering within segments by creating and managing segment-level configurations.
  • Define advanced data logic by creating and managing custom MDX expressions.
  1. To open Infor GenAI chat from the dashboard toolbar, select Toolbox > GenAI Ad-hoc Report. To open Infor GenAI chat from Ad-hoc Report widget, click Ad-hoc GenAI in the global toolbar.
    To open Infor GenAI chat in the Excel Integration, click GenAI Ad-hoc Report in the main navigation task pane.
  2. In the Gen AI dialog box, specify your report requirements and click Send.
  3. If applicable, perform any of these actions:
    • To stop the evaluation of your current prompt and send a new prompt, click Abort and Send.
    • To copy the response, click Copy.
    • To start a new chat, click New Chat. The content and responses of the current chat are deleted.
    • To close the chat, click Close.
