Metrics Overview report mechanism

The metrics table in the Metrics Overview report is dynamically generated based on the selected strategy, objective, and metric context that are inherited from the C-Suite dashboard.

The Metrics Overview report displays KPIs, KVIs, and drivers in a hierarchical structure.

These mechanisms apply when you access the report from the dashboard:

  • Expandable or collapsible metric levels
  • Views for the reporting and comparison periods
  • Analysis of absolute and percentage differences with optional sparklines and trend indicators
  • Ability to switch between periodical and YTD views
  • Switches to show or hide specific columns
  • Filters to focus on specific dimensions

The table is interactive and reflects user selections made in the dashboard or within the report, it supports single-objective and single-metric views with consistent formatting and color coding for differences.

Example

This is an example of the Metrics Overview report mechanism:

  1. Open the C-Suite dashboard in which the default strategy and objective are preselected.
  2. In the Strategy & Objective widget, select the Ensure Liquidity objective as the focus area.
  3. The metrics table is updated to show KPIs that are linked to that objective, such as EBIT and Cash Flow Margin.
  4. Check EBIT and navigate to the C-Suite dashboard through the C-Suite icon.
  5. In the C-Suite dashboard, review the metrics and click the Metrics Overview icon to jump to the Metrics Overview report.
  6. In the Metrics Overview report, perform these actions:
    • Switch to the YTD view to assess cumulative performance.
    • Click Analyze By to focus on the Central Europe region.
    • Confirm that Show Analysis is enabled by default and the Δ, Δ%, and Sparkline columns are displayed.
    • Add two analysis columns to compare with January and December of the previous year.
  7. After you review the data, export the report to the PDF file and share it with the finance leadership team for discussion in the upcoming review meeting.
