Open Ad-hoc report action
You can open an Ad-hoc Report as a widget in the web browser. You can also define an action to open the report as a dialog box.
- Create a report and insert a slice into the report.
 - Right-click the cell and select Define Action. 
           The Define Action dialog box is displayed.
 - In the Actions section, specify this information:
           
- Type
 - Select Open Ad-hoc report.
 - Condition
 - Specify =TRUE.
 - Mode
 - Select Hyperlink.
 
 - In the Inputs/Outputs section, specify this information:
           
- Slice definition
 - Select the slice.
 - Mode
 - To open the report as a widget or dialog box, select Widget or Dialog, respectively.
 - Dialog button
 - Use to open the report as a dialog box. To remove the button, select Do not show. To show a Close button, select Close. To define your own button, select User-defined string or Formula.
 - Title
 - To use the default title, select Default title. To define your own title, select User-defined string or Formula.
 
 - Click OK and view the report in the web browser.
           Note: These Application Studio functions are not supported in an Ad-hoc Report:
- Slice segments. You can apply a cell style only to the first slice segment.
 - Sorting. The sorting configuration is not loaded into an Ad-hoc Report user interface but the report is calculated.
 - Filtering. The filtering configuration is not loaded into an Ad-hoc Report user interface but the report is calculated.
 - Custom Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) slice type.
 - Custom MDX in the report areas.
 - An Ad-hoc Report cannot drill down into more details than it is selected in the Application Studio report.
 - Custom calculations.
