Limitations of the Open Ad-hoc report action

Some slice features that are defined in Application Studio are partially supported in the Ad-hoc Report user interface. Those features are not editable in the Ad-hoc Report user interface but applied during calculations.

This table shows existing limitations when you use the Open Ad-hoc report action:

Category Description
Sorting You can define sorting only by attributes in the slice definition on hierarchies. You cannot define any other sorting criteria on hierarchies. You cannot define any sorting criteria on axes.
Segments These features apply only to the first segment in the Ad-hoc Report user interface:
  • Formatting with styles
  • Editing report in the report designer
Inverted hierarchy Not supported in the Ad-hoc Report user interface. Rows are converted to the financial mode. Columns are converted to the standard hierarchy.
Slicers aggregations Not editable in the Ad-hoc Report user interface.
Custom MDX axis definition Not editable in the Ad-hoc Report user interface.
