Standard dimensions

We recommend that, where possible and as necessary, you use these existing dimensions:

Standard dimension	Typical use
Configuration set	For generic use of the sub plan for many cycles and easier data transfer.
Version	For generic use of the sub plan for many versions and easier data transfer.
Calendar	Use only if your sub plan uses the same level of detail as the business application.
Entity	For use if your sub plan is dependent on entities.
Organization	For use if your sub plan is dependent on organizations.
Currency	For use if your sub plan is currency related.
Units of measure	Use only if your sub plan uses the same units of measure as the business application.
Level and step	Use only if you sub plan is workflow driven. More commonly, values are transferred to a fixed level and step element.
Analysis	Use as required.
Parameter	Use if you want to create your own configuration cubes. Parameters are created with Business Modeling.
