Calculation limitations
This table shows existing limitations that apply when you add calculation elements to a report:
Category | Description |
---|---|
Creation of calculation elements | Not possible in base elements, including flat hierarchy elements. If multiple calculated elements exist at the same level and no sorting is applied, calculated elements are arranged by creation order. The latest created element is at the bottom. Calculated elements names are case insensitive. Two calculated elements are treated as identical if their names are identical but with different capitalization. For example Test and test elements are treated as identical and only one is displayed in the element tree. |
Parent Element item list | The item list does not show elements from the entire hierarchy. Only existing parent elements, that have already been searched for and loaded, are available in this item list. The Parent Element item list only searches through currently retrieved elements. |
Filters in the Ad-hoc Report dialog box | You cannot create calculations directly in filters. To create calculations in filters, add a hierarchy to axes, create a calculation, and move the hierarchy to filters. |
Calculation element as a slicer | Is displayed in a hierarchy’s element tree in the Ad-hoc Report dialog box, but not in a report. The cell under the hierarchy name is blank. |
Formula editor features | Formula is validated for failure. These formula validations are not available:
|
Escape key, | , and buttonsEscape key closes only the calculation dialog box. | , and buttons close the calculation dialog box and all related dialog boxes.
Ad-hoc Report conversion | When converting Ad-hoc Report calculated elements show a #VALUE! error in the report. Writeback is not supported for calculated elements. |
Identifier for calculated elements | In the report grid the calculated element is displayed in the same way as the standard element. |
Access to the parent element | If you do not have access to the parent element of a calculated element, you cannot view or use the calculated element. An error is displayed when you view the element tree. |
Currency and percentage in the Number Format field | You cannot specify words such as currency and percentage in the Number Format field. You can format numbers as percentage by entering formats like 0.00% or 0%. |
Invalid number format | If you specify an invalid number format in the Number Format field, either the invalid format is displayed in the report, or it is not applied. Elements with invalid format can show a #VALUE! error in the report. |
Invalid calculation elements with restricted elements | Calculation elements are invalid if formulas include restricted elements or mismatch unique name formats between EPM Administration and the Infor LTR formula. Invalid calculation elements show a #VALUE! error in the report. Calculation elements are invalid when calculated elements used in the formula are deleted. |
Numbers in the Formula field | Specify numbers without thousands and decimal separators. |
Confirm dialog box | Is displayed in the task pane when you move the active cell outside of the report area before clicking Confirm dialog box is not displayed if there are unsaved changes in the Add Calculation dialog box. | . Any action you perform before clicking is considered as an unsaved change. The
Renaming a calculation element | To rename or delete a calculation element that is referenced by another calculation element you must update the formula in the referenced calculation element manually. If the formula is not updated, the referenced calculation element shows a #VALUE! error in the report. |
Calculated elements appear next to sibling with leaf filter | When the leaf element filter is applied, calculated elements are displayed next to their sibling elements instead of being listed below the regular elements. |
